The Drilax 2 inch Diamond Hole Saw is engineered for clean, high-precision drilling through the toughest materials including concrete, stone, tile, porcelain, and granite. As part of our Pro Series, this hole saw utilizes advanced vacuum brazed diamond technology to ensure a long service life and consistent cutting speed across hundreds of holes.

Featuring a standard 5/8"-11 threaded connection, this bit is designed for a direct, secure fit onto most angle grinders and professional core drilling machines. Whether you are working on a dry jobsite or using water for wet drilling, this tool provides the versatility needed for renovations and heavy-duty installations.

Key Features

    • 2 inch diameter ideal for shower drains and plumbing pipes
    • Vacuum Brazed Diamond Grit for superior durability and 100+ hole capacity
    • 5/8"-11 Threaded Connection for easy mounting on angle grinders
    • Wet or Dry Use for flexible jobsite performance
    • Enhanced Cooling: Integrated side slots for debris removal and heat dissipation
    • Professional Grade: Built for contractors and serious DIY masonry projects

Compatible Materials

  • Materials: Porcelain tile, ceramic tile, granite, quartz, marble, slate, brick, cinder block, and non-reinforced masonry.
  • Tool Compatibility: Designed for direct fit on standard angle grinders and professional core drilling machines with 5/8"-11 spindles.
  • Note: Not recommended for glass, mirrored surfaces, or fragile decorative tiles due to the aggressive nature of vacuum-brazed diamonds.

How To Use

  • Angle Grinder Mounting: Thread the hole saw directly onto the 5/8"-11 spindle of your angle grinder. Ensure the connection is tight before operation.
  • Starting the Cut: Start at a 45-degree angle to create a "crescent" notch. This prevents the bit from wandering. Once the groove is established, slowly tilt the tool to a 90-degree angle.
  • You can also cut a guide out of scrap wood. that will hold and guide the tool in place.
  • Operating Technique: Use high RPMs and light, steady pressure. Let the vacuum-brazed diamonds do the cutting; do not force the tool into the material.
  • Heat Management: For deep cuts in stone or masonry, periodically back the bit out of the hole to clear dust and allow the air-cooled side slots to manage heat buildup.

Use Cases

  • Plumbing Installations: Perfectly sized for standard 2-inch PVC pipes and the installation of shower drain assemblies.
  • Kitchen & Bath Renovation: Creating precise openings in granite, quartz, and marble countertops for plumbing fixtures.
  • Flooring Projects: Drilling clean, chip-free holes in porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone floor tiles.
  • Masonry Core Drilling: Effective for passing through brick, cinder block, and natural stone walls.

F.A.Q.

Q: Does this fit a standard hand drill?
A: This bit features a 5/8"-11 threaded connection designed specifically for angle grinders. To use this with a standard 3/8" or 1/2" power drill chuck, a 5/8"-11 to Hex Shank adapter is required (sold separately).

Q: Can I use this for dry drilling?
A: Yes, the advanced vacuum brazed technology is engineered for dry drilling. However, using water as a coolant will significantly extend the life of the diamonds and provide a cleaner, faster cut.

Q: How many holes can I expect to get?
A: While results vary by material hardness, our Pro Series bits are tested to handle over 100+ holes in standard tile and stone when used with proper cooling and steady pressure.

Q: What is the maximum drilling depth?
A: The standard core depth for this series is approximately 2 inches, allowing you to pass through standard countertops and floor tiles with ease.
