The Drilax 6 Inch Diamond Flat Lap Disc, 150 Grit is a medium-coarse-grit, diamond-coated steel disc for shaping and general grinding in lapidary work. Refines shape after coarse grinding and starts smoothing. The rigid, extremely flat steel base runs true with no wobble, and the 1/2 inch arbor fits standard flat lap machines, faceting machines and slant cabbers.
Benefits
150 Grit (Medium-coarse): Refines shape after coarse grinding and starts smoothing.
High-Density Diamond Coating: Electroplated on one side with over 97% diamond coverage for even, consistent contact and long service life.
Solid Steel Base: 6-inch rigid steel disc stays flat under pressure, so stones and glass finish evenly.
Build a Full Set: Drilax 6 inch lap discs come in grits from 60 to 1500, each sold individually, so you can step through every stage from shaping to polishing.

How To Use
How To Use
- Mounting: Clamp the disc to your lap machine or master lap using the 1/2 inch arbor, coated side up.
- Break-In: Run the disc on scrap material for a short break-in before working on finished pieces.
- Keep It Wet: Use a steady water drip to cool the piece, carry away grinding residue and keep the grit from clogging.
- Work Through the Grits: Step from coarser to finer grits; 150 grit is used for shaping and general grinding.
- Light Pressure: Let the diamonds do the work. Heavy pressure or running dry wears the coating faster.
