Drilax 4-1/2" Dry Core Diamond Hole Saw is a powerful masonry tool built for precision drilling through concrete, brick, stone, and other tough materials. Engineered for both dry and wet applications, it combines robust construction with ease-of-use, making it a favorite for contractors and DIY users alike.

Key Features

  • Heavy-Duty Dry Core Bit: Engineered for aggressive cutting in tough masonry with a durable sintered diamond edge.
  • Precision Locator Guide: Removable guide assists in accurate hole positioning and can hold water for wet drilling.
  • 3/8" Universal Shank: Standard size works with most cordless and corded drills.
  • 2-Inch Drilling Depth: Ideal for thick masonry materials like blocks, foundations, and pavers.
  • No Pilot Bit Needed: Direct drilling without pre-drilling center holes saves time and effort.
  • Gold Series Performance: Rugged build and high-grade diamond grit for long-lasting performance.

Compatible Materials

  • Materials: Brick walls, concrete blocks, stucco, foundation slabs, natural stone, cinder block, and pavers.
  • Tool Compatibility: Works with all standard 3/8" or 1/2" corded and cordless drills (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Makita).
  • Pro Series Tip: For sizes in this series that do not include a guide, we recommend creating a simple template out of scrap wood to ensure a perfect start.
  • Warning: Not recommended for glass, mirrored surfaces, or delicate decorative tiles.

How To Use

  • Drill Mounting: This bit features a universal 3/8" shank that fits directly into any standard corded or cordless power drill. No specialized adapters are required.
  • Using the Locator Guide: Secure the included removable locator guide to the surface to ensure accurate positioning. The guide can also hold a small amount of water if you prefer wet drilling.
  • Starting the Cut: If not using the guide, start at a slight angle to notch the material before bringing the tool upright.
  • Operating Technique: Use high RPMs and light, controlled pressure. Let the laser-welded sintered diamonds do the cutting. Do not force the tool.
  • Cooling: Although no water is required for cooling these sintered teeth, pausing periodically during deep cuts will help manage heat and extend tool life.

Use Cases

  • HVAC Installations: The top choice for drilling large-diameter openings for exhaust vents, furnace ducting, and air intake pipes.
  • Construction & Foundation: Ideal for passing through thick foundation slabs, concrete blocks, and foundation walls.
  • Electrical & Utilities: Perfect for creating entry points for large conduit runs and electrical box cutouts in brick or stucco.
  • Landscaping: Drilling through heavy-duty pavers and stone retaining walls for lighting or drainage.
